And smiled for all the

Customers.

He sat down outside

Jake’s Cafe.

He had just come from church.

He placed his bible

On the table.

And asked the waitress

For water.

She brought his drink to

The table.

He asked about

Her day.

She saw his bible,

And wondered why

A man like him would

Talk to her.

He finished his drink

And waved

Goodbye. She waved.

And smiled

Because she was glad.

He left her a

tip. But hoped she found

Something more.
